Friday Night Besties is a community league youth group that aims to offer weekly programming for children in grades 7 through 9. The program provides a regular Friday night activity and closes with a snack.
To provide a community-based program that is welcoming to all Junior High aged kids living and/or going to school in the Bellevue, Virginia Park, and Highlands neighbourhoods. Participants will have a unique opportunity to grow relationships with their community as well as their peers.
Each week will focus on a different type of activity, in a monthly rotation: gym nights, outdoor activities, and community service events in the neighbourhood. Group leaders all have clear criminal record checks, and are purposefully not parents of junior high aged children. Participants are asked to bring $2 each week to offset any costs; occasionally, a larger cost will be required for special events.
The group meets at various locations, always starting at 7pm. For details, refer to the Highlands/Bellevue Friday Night Besties page on Facebook.
Friday Night Besties is jointly sponsored by the Highlands and Bellevue Community Leagues and regular donations of snacks and beverages from the Culina Family. All participants are expected to buy a Bellevue or Highlands Community League membership.
